Gorilla, 2012. Auf dem Nachhauseweg von der CSD-Abschluß-Party am Großen Stern habe ich in den Unterführungen vom Alexanderplatz einen rosafarbenen Gorilla verfolgt. Als er eine Rolltreppe betrat, bin ich parallel die Treppe runter gerannt, um ihn von vorn zu erwischen. Der Gorilla hatte sich mittlerweile auf die Stufen gesetzt. Ein Take auf fahrender Rolltreppe und weg war der Moment. Beim nächsten Klick war der Affe aufgestanden und ist mir in die Linse gesprungen.
Das Foto lieferte die Vorlage für das Cover meines Buchs ALLE KATZEN GRAU, wurde in vielen Berliner Zeitungen und Magazinen gedruckt und ist sowohl als Fine-Art-Foto-Print als auch als Siebdruck-Edition eines meiner erfolgreichsten Bilder.

Gorilla, 2012. On my way home from the CSD closing party at Großer Stern, I chased a pink gorilla in the underpasses of Alexanderplatz. When he entered an escalator, I ran parallel down the stairs to catch him from the front. In the meantime, the gorilla had sat down on the steps. One take on a moving escalator and the moment was gone. For the next photo, the ape had stood up and jumped into my lens.
The photo provided the template for the cover of my book ALLE KATZEN GRAU, was printed in a lot of Berlin newspapers and magazines and is one of my most successful images, both as a fine art photo print and as a screen print edition.
