Nuts Royal – 1st exhibit @ supalife kiosk

Nuts Royal ist die Hochzeit zwischen einer selbstgedrehten Zigarette in der Dachkammer und einer warm getragenen Bierflasche im Inneren der Manteltasche. Es ist frech. Es ist schrill. Und vor allem ist es die Reaktion der Hand eines Zeichners auf die Bilder eines Fotografen. Eindrücke und Gedanken aus dem Alltag zweier Berliner Flaneure. Knackige Acrylfarben kommentieren die harten Schwarz-Weiß-Bilder, kitzeln die monochrome Bildwelt und ärgern den Betrachter beim schauen. Nuts Royal ist das 2019 ins Leben gerufene, spontane Projekt des Künstlers Oliver Buhlig und des Fotografen Christian Reister. Uns gefällt besonders die Spontaneität des Projekts und die Verschmelzung von Zeichnung und Text mit der Fotografie.

Berlin Nights

I have the great pleasure to work with the fantastic people form Hoxton Mini Press on my next photobook, which will be published in fall this year. Friedericke Huber is the book designer, Tom Seymour will be writing the introduction. It’s wonderful and very inspiring to work with such experienced and professional people. Great to see what they create out of my pictures that I have been taken over the last ten years.

The title will be “Berlin Nights” and the book is No. 7 of Hoxton Mini Press’ series “Tales of the City”. Hoxton Mini Press is an independent publisher from East London, run by Martin Usborne and Ann Waldvogel.
